The global vegan and vegetarian market is worth over $50bn. Whilst this represents a fraction of the trillion dollar meat market, it shows that plant-based companies have plenty of room to grow. 

Figures from US management consulting firm AT Kearney predicts sales of meat alternatives will grow annually by 20-30% in the coming years. Somewhat ironically, the steaks are high! The market used to be polarising affair of hyper-masculine meat eaters vs hippy tree-hugging vegans. Now consumers exist on a more fluid spectrum of veganism, with a number of new dietary terms to prove it: flexitarians, reducetarians, pescatarians. This increasing tendency to make small changes to our diets is down to a greater awareness of the health benefits of plant-based.
