In making a substantial acquisition, a consumer self-care company covered in our update here, is trying to become a rare UK small cap success in the notoriously difficult US market. Having failed to conquer the UK, we aren’t convinced the latest deal will bring the desired rewards to shareholders, although management is bound to do ok, whatever the outcome! Elsewhere, there has been positive noise from other companies covered here, but the latest results from a manufacturer of optical components suggest there is work to do to lift its margins. Cambridge Cognition: new collaboration looks interesting Cambridge Cognition (AIM:COG), the neuroscience technology company, has announced a collaboration with Oura, the maker of the world’s leading smart ring, which could significantly advance COG’s position in Consumer Health & Wellness. Oura Labs, the experimental platform within the Oura App, will combine COG’s scientifically validated digital cognitive assessments with Oura’s continuous physiological data to explore how everyday patterns in rest, stress and behaviour may relate to cognitive function and performance.
