To fashion-conscious consumers with a budget, Primark is a gift. As you enter the shop, which is usually between nine and 16 stories high, your economic fears take flight and the fashion world is yours to claim. The intention of buying a few pairs of socks, becomes a catwalk extravaganza and results in three enormous bags of t-shirts, a mickey-mouse jumper, 12 earrings, a pair of boots, Christmas presents for the family and an umbrella, for the price of £17.52.
