Rising prices are making consumers spend more on decent content, they also forced Comcast to pay big bucks to keep Disney off its Sky acquisition. Here is why we think the US group has overpaid and Disney looks like a much better investment opportunity.
This weekend as I settled down to watch England take on South Africa in the first rugby international of the Autumn season, I was horrified to discover that it would not – as has always previously been the case – be available on the BBC. Only those who pay at least £22 a month for Sky Sports had access. I was stuck with Wales vs Scotland which, despite being a far better game, was not what I wanted.
