While April 2019 was another poor month for new arrivals on AIM, with one solitary newcomer, the market value of the junior market still rose over £100bn in the period. Our latest blog introduces the sole genuine newcomer and other news from AIM.


At the end of April 2019 there were 904 companies on AIM, with the total market value £104bn. This compares with 904 companies at the end of March 2019 when AIM’s market value was £97.6bn. Excluding readmissions and reverse takeovers, there was 1 new arrival and 1 departure in April.

Welcome the newcomer

The only newcomer to AIM in April was Loungers (LON:LGRS), the operator of cafés, bars and restaurants across England and Wales under the Lounge and Cosy Club brands.

Loungers was founded in Bristol in 2002 by three friends who wanted to create a neighbourhood café-bar with a focus on hospitality, comfort and familiarity, driven by an independent culture and a focus on the local community.
