Advertising has become an incredibly tough industry as consumer facing businesses turn away from traditional marketing platforms. But this shouldn’t be a surprise – Facebook and Google have been swallowing a disproportionate share of global advertising revenues for years. Interim results show that ITV needs to do more to offset the challenges. Love Island alone is not enough.


We took ITV (LON: ITV) out of the Investor’s Champion Portfolio in June because we have been disappointed in how the company is handling the challenges in the global broadcasting market. Advertising has become an incredibly tough industry as consumer facing businesses turn away from traditional marketing platforms. But this shouldn’t be a surprise – Facebook and Google have been swallowing a disproportionate share of global advertising revenues for years.
