Britain was always going to have a messy Autumn. This week’s prorogue drama has given a little preview of just how messy politics may be in the coming months.
Boris Johnson’s adversaries have spent their summer holidays plotting to unseat him before he manages to lead the UK out of the EU before securing a deal with Brussels. But it seems they weren’t prepared for a prorogue, which means parliament will close between 10 September and 14 October.
