It will probably be a puzzle to shareholders in one of our Stonking Small opportunities why the shares slumped following what appeared to be an in-line trading update. In the current, more volatile, stock market environment only the best will do, especially for companies trading on richer ratings, as our Stonking Small Cap certainly was. Thankfully, it's still looking in excellent shape, offering an interesting buying opportunity, althoigh we would like clarification of a few points. CMO Group: we aren’t convinced! CMO Group (AIM:CMO), which calls itself the UK's largest online-only retailer of building materials, issued a positive a trading update for the year ended 31 December 2021. Sales for the year rose 47% but to only £77m, suggesting that, while they might be a big “online-only” retailer they are still a very small player in the building materials market, offering plenty of growth potential.
