Breedon Aggregates (AIM:BREE) - cracking acquisition drives the shares higher

The UK’s largest independent aggregates business delivered a very positive trading update and news of a substantial acquisition that looks an absolute cracker to us.

Breedon, led by industry ‘veteran’ (he probably won’t like that term) Peter Tom, currently operates 53 quarries, 26 asphalt plants, 59 ready-mixed concrete plants and three concrete block plants in England and Scotland and employs approximately 1,250 people. The group has strong asset backing, with more than 500 million tonnes of mineral reserves and resources.
