Trade deal: half-baked
The US and China signed the first phase of a trade deal on Wednesday, easing the tensions which have encircled the two economic superpowers for the last two years. Under the terms of the agreement, China has committed to spend roughly $200bn on American goods, in exchange for a rollback in some of the tariffs on Chinese imports into the US.
